Each room is named after prominent individuals associated with Le Grand Contr\u00f4le or the Palace of Versailles. Guests can explore the 2,000 acres, palace halls and apartments once walked by Europes elite - including exclusive access to spaces usually closed to visitors. They can also eat like a king with five-course gourmet feasts prepared by Michelin-starred French chef Alain Ducasse and take a dip in the indoor swimming pool. Le Grand Contr\u00f4le is the first hotel to open within the grounds of what the French refer to as the Ch\u00e2teau de Versailles, with views over the Orangerie, the Pi\u00e8ce dEau des Suisses and the Ch\u00e2teau. It is housed within a beautiful building constructed by Louis XIVs favourite architect, Jules Hardouin-Mansart in 1681. The property has been meticulously restored by architect and interior designer, Christophe Tollemer. The property is largely furnished with original period furniture, and Tollemer worked closely with Emmanuelle Vidal-Delagneau, a highly experienced specialist in French heritage and art in the selection of authentic art and objects from the 17th and 18th centuries. The stunning surroundings were captured by Ren\u00e9e Kemps, renowned for photographing famous sites. It features 14 rooms and one signature suite, all decorated in elegant eighteenth-century style and featuring authentic colours and fabrics, chandeliers, artwork and artefacts. Each room is named after prominent individuals associated with Le Grand Contr\u00f4le or the Palace of Versailles. Guests can explore the 2,000 acres, palace halls and apartments once walked by Europes elite - including exclusive access to spaces usually closed to visitors. They can also eat like a king with five-course gourmet feasts prepared by Michelin-starred French chef Alain Ducasse and take a dip in the indoor swimming pool. Le Grand Contr\u00f4le is the first hotel to open within the grounds of what the French refer to as the Ch\u00e2teau de Versailles, with views over the Orangerie, the Pi\u00e8ce dEau des Suisses and the Ch\u00e2teau. It is housed within a beautiful building constructed by Louis XIVs favourite architect, Jules Hardouin-Mansart in 1681. The property has been meticulously restored by architect and interior designer, Christophe Tollemer. The property is largely furnished with original period furniture, and Tollemer worked closely with Emmanuelle Vidal-Delagneau, a highly experienced specialist in French heritage and art in the selection of authentic art and objects from the 17th and 18th centuries.
